8/12/2016. I considered several exhaust system options, but the manifolds were a particular concern. The most convincing ’60s road racer look would have been Stahl headers, but they went out of business for a few months during this time period, and were very expensive. Doug’s makes side pipe headers, but the flanges were thin, and in advantages headers in the real world are easily outweighed by the disadvantages of heat, noise, and the space they take. OEM Rams Horns manifolds with 2.5-inch outlets are getting hard to come by, and reproductions are of questionable quality. These cast iron Rams Horn style manifolds got good reviews so I ordered a set from Summit. They must have been cast in a hut in Mongolia or somewhere. Inside they were very rough, and the left manifold had slag left front and center right on tip. I sent them back.
Really good job, well done enjoyed watching the pics.
