2/22/2016. Lot’s of rear rear air dams have been molded in to C2 Corvettes over the years. Only a handful with any sort of success. I thought I’d be the first to have a rear dam that was a custom designed add-on. But how to make one? After much head scratching and sketching, I concocted a scheme to “simply” extend the rear surface up, and lay up fiberglass on the deck of the car to form the bottom and back sided. Then establish a line in rear view, fill the cavity with foam, and lay up glass on the top surface, finishing the surface with filler until the desired shape was found. First steps are depicted here, including setting in bolts that went into the deck. This isn’t over. more later.
