1/2/2015. I don’t know how professionals do this sort of thing, but I wanted to minimize damage to the body and create holes in the interior as close to the roll bar as possible. I suspended the roll bar and used plastic tubing that I could easily trim to figure out where the holes needed to be cut. The plan is to use ID Tube Clamps so the roll bar can be separated from the mount for installation of the body. I fabricated metal brackets that will bolt to the existing holes in the top of the frame. Short roll bar tubes plus the lower half of the ID Tube Clamp will be welded to the frame brackets. I did all of this because I didn’t want to tear up the body or compromise the frame in any way to mount the roll bar. Probably not SCCA legal, but I don’t care. I tacked the pieces together. Later I had the bar properly welded by someone who knows what they are doing.
